An international scientific conference was opened in the National Archives of Georgia

The eighth edition of the conference "Archival Studies, Source Studies - Trends and Challenges" was launched at the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. Since 2016, the event's goals have been to compile scientific news, support multidisciplinary and cross-cultural research, and foster scientific exchanges between international and Georgian researchers.

Buba Lomuashvili, the Deputy Minister of Justice, gave the opening remarks. In his welcomme speech, he underlined the significance of hosting an international scientific conference and mentioned that the Ministry of Justice of Georgia's top priorities are the application of strategies founded on scientific research and close sectoral collaboration with relevant agencies of partner nations. The National Archives' Director General, Teona Iashvili, gave a welcome speech to the conference attendees.

This year's international conference is dedicated to the 950th anniversary of Davit Agmashenebeli. Thus, a separate section will work on issues of Georgian history in the 12th century. Current issues of philology, history, art studies, cultural studies, digital archives and databases, conservation-restoration will be discussed at the thematic sessions.
