Tbilisi Public School N64 Claimed the First Place in National Archives' Educational Project

Tbilisi Public School N64 emerged as the winner of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia's educational project, "The First Democratic Republic of Georgia". Tbilisi Public School N161 secured the second, while Poti Public School N1 claimed third place.

The project's final competition was held today at the Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi, where 58 teams from both public and private schools participated. Students representing the schools that placed in the top three were awarded various prizes for their accomplishments.

Special gifts were also presented to representatives from the highest mountainous region: Amrolauri Municipality's Public School N2 and Tsalka Municipality's Sameba Village Public School, representing the highest mountainous areas among the finalists. Additionally, recognition was extended to the Rukhi Village Public School team from Zugdidi Municipality, located near the occupation line; the Akhaurti Village Public School team from Bolnisi Municipality, representing an ethnic minority; and schools distinguished by their exceptionally high student engagement—namely, the teams from Ghviri Village Public School and Alpana Village Public School in Tsageri Municipality, as well as Bukistsikhe Village Public School in Chokhatauri Municipality.

The awards were presented by Teona Iashvili, Director General of the National Archives.

The National Archives initiated this educational project in 2015 with the goal of fostering student interest in Georgia's pivotal history from 1918 to 1921. The project is structured as an intellectual game, similar to the "What? Where? When?" format. In 2025, the initiative saw significant participation, involving 1,375 students from grades VIII through XII across 275 general education schools nationwide.

The educational project was successfully implemented with the comprehensive support of both the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia.
