The National Archives Presented Research on Georgian Liturgical Collections at an International Conference

Representatives of the Scientific Department of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia participated in the international conference titled “Dioceses, Churches, and Historical Sources Between the Early Modern Period and Today,” held in the Czech Republic.

Ketevan Asatiani, Head of the Scientific Department of the National Archives, and Nino Badashvili, Chief Specialist of the same department, presented a study on 16th-17th centuries Georgian liturgical collections to international colleagues. Based on the analysis of Georgian liturgical collections, known as Gulans, preserved in Georgia’s repositories, the research defines their place within the broader context of liturgical collections.

The presentation analyzed translated and original texts of Gulans, as well as the dedicatory notes and marginalia that preserve valuable information on various historical events.

Researchers and scientists from over 20 European countries participated in the international conference, which was hosted by the University of Hradec Králové and took place in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, on November 5-7.
