Oskar Schmerling's 'Tsarmavali Tfilisi' postcard series has been published on the Ministry of Justice of Georgia's National Archive website.

Cartoon and caricature postcards from 1928 depict specific moments in Tbilisi's social life at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Schmerling's humorous works capture the diverse range of Tbilisi's inhabitants, their activities, amusement, trade, and leisure.

Oscar Schmerling was a German-born Georgian painter and illustrator who worked at the beginning of the 20th century. He created genre paintings, landscapes, and battle scenes. He made a significant contribution to the growth of Georgian illustration and caricature.
