Tbilisi International Archival Film Festival ended with the film "Msoplio Tashs Ukravs”

In the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, on October 7, the Second Tbilisi International Archival Film Festival was closed with the Georgian documentary "Msoplio Tashs Ukravs”.

"Sukhishvili" is the name of the film that director Giorgi Asatiani filmed in 1960 about the Georgian National Ballet. It features performances by the group in key cities across the world, including London, Paris, Rome, New York, Los Angeles, Bogotá, Mexico City, and Havana. The sights that the members of the ensemble visited in America and Europe are also shown in the video.

A total of 38 archival films were shown to the Georgian public in the National Archives' cinema from October 4–7 from the film archives, cinemateques and National Archives of Georgia, Belgium, Germany, Bulgaria, Peru, Italy, the USA, Estonia, Portugal, Malta, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Poland.

At the festival's conclusion, Georgian colleagues gave special prizes and festival certificates to the representatives of film institutions from foreign countries participating in the event.Tbilisi International Archival Film Festival was founded in 2022. The National Archives’ Cinema will host the next, third international festival of archival films in October 2024.
