"Georgia on the 16th-18th century Dutch maps and gravures" – a jubilee exhibition in the National Archives.

The exhibition "Georgia on the 16th-18th century Dutch Maps and Gravures" was opened in the exhibition pavilion of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The exhibition presents material related to Georgia preserved in the private collection of Sulkhan Saladze, created in the 16th-18th centuries - 26 unique maps and original engravings in printed form. Among them are maps of Georgia, the Caucasus, Europe, Asia, the Black Sea, empires, biblical and historical themes; also the originals of the archival material reflecting the relations between Georgia and the Netherlands preserved in the National Archives.

Parallel to the exhibition, on February 17, at 19:00, Sulkhan Saladze will give a public lecture. Attendance on both events is free.

 

The exposition ""Georgia on the XVI-XVIII century Dutch maps and gravures" will last for one month.

The exhibition was prepared by "Open Space Caucasus" (COS), within the scope of the project funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia. The exhibition is supported by the National Archives of Georgia.
