Cooperation Between the Archives of Georgia and Germany will Deepen Further

The Director General of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, Teona Iashvili, hosted Alexandra Titze, Vice President of Germany's Federal Archives. The guest's visit was organized and invited by the Max Weber Foundation's Georgia office.

During the meeting, both sides introduced the specific functions of their archives and discussed strengthening future collaboration. A primary topic was the opportunity for sharing German expertise in document preservation, digitization, restoration, and electronic archiving.

As part of the visit, the guest was introduced to the specific operations of the National Archives and the work of the restoration laboratory and viewed documents related to Germany preserved in Georgian archival collections.

The National Archives signed a cooperation memorandum with the Max Weber Foundation's Georgia office in 2024 and collaborates on various scientific and research projects.
