A retrospective of Otar Ioseliani's films was opened today in the National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia with the feature film "Once Upon a Time There Was a Singing Blackbird."

The event is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the director's birth. During 3 days, the audience will see 5 digitally restored feature films in the cinema of the National Archive:

February 2, 19:00 - "Once Upon a Time There Was a Singing Blackbird" (1970);

February 3, 16:00 - "Pastorali" (1975); 18:00 - "Favorites of the Moon" (1984);

February 4, 16:00  – " Falling Leaves " (1966); 18:00 – " And Then There Was Light " (1989).

It should be noted that in 2021, Otar Ioselian handed over to the National Archives of Georgia high-quality digital copies (DCP format) of 21 documentary and feature films shot in Georgia and France from the 1950s to 2015, which became part of the National Archive Fonds of Georgia. The films were scanned and digitally restored in France.

The retrospective was opened by Giorgi Kakabadze, the Director of the Central Audio-Visual and Film Archive of Georgia. The event was attended by family members, colleagues, and other invited guests of Otar Ioseliani.

Attendance at film screenings is free.
