The delegation of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia is participating in the 33rd assembly of the International Centre for Archival Research (ICARUS).

The theme of the event, which is taking place in Naples, Italy, is "European Travel Routes through GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums): The Challenge of Digital Transformation." In this context, discussions focused on the development of digital platforms and the challenges and opportunities of increasing access to archival documents for the international community.

During the visit, Giorgi Sopromadze, Deputy General Director of the National Archives of Georgia, and Sophio Jobava, Head of the Public Relations and International Organizations Department, met with Birgit Kibal, President of the International Centre for Archival Research. They discussed the possibility of Georgia’s active involvement in ICARUS projects. Additionally, they participated in the ICARUS General Assembly, where the organization's annual report was presented, along with discussions on projects planned for 2025.
