The 6th International Scientific Conference of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia was opened today by the Director-General of the National Archives of Georgia Teona Iashvili in an online format.

The annual scientific conference, titled "Archival Studies, Source Studies - Trends and Challenges" includes the following scientific topics: Philology (Classical, Byzantine, and Modern Greek Philology, Literature, Linguistics, Linguistics, Literary Theory, Textology, Codicology); History, Source Studies, Archival Studies, Ethnology, Anthropology; Art criticism (visual and decorative-applied arts, architecture, audio and visual arts, music, theater, art theory and history, choreography); Culture Studies (museology, archeology, cultural theory, and history), etc. More than 100 Georgian and foreign scientists are participating in the event.

The conference participants were welcomed by: Darejan Tvaltvadze, Professor of TSU Faculty of Humanities, Jaba Samushia, Head of Rustaveli Science Foundation, and Mikheil Tsereteli, Deputy Director of the Georgian National Museum.

The International Scientific Conference of the National Archives of Georgia has been held since 2016. It aims to gather information on scientific development, stimulate close scientific ties between Georgian and foreign scholars, promote interdisciplinary and intercultural research, find ways to adapt to the modern requirements of cultural heritage management, and share innovations in the field of digital humanities.
