The National Archives of Georgia Hosts the 9th International Conference

The 9th International Scientific Conference, “Archival Studies, Source Studies – Trends and Challenges,” has opened at the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

Around 200 Georgian and international scholars and researchers are participating in the three-day conference.

The conference encourages new scientific research, fosters close ties between Georgian and international scientists, promotes the exchange of innovations and experiences, and strengthens the National Archives' scientific cooperation.

The event was opened by Teona Iashvili, Director General of the National Archives of Georgia. Levan Jikia, a representative of the National Archives’ Scientific Department, and Professor Oliver Reisner greeted the conference participants.

The conference covers scientific fields such as philology; history, source studies, archival studies, ethnology, and anthropology; art studies; cultural studies; digital aesthetics and design; digital archives and databases; conservation and restoration.
